Who we are:
Bike Walk Mississippi (BWM), serves as the only statewide bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organization in Mississippi. BWM works with individuals, communities, schools, businesses and organizations to provide a unified voice for the needs and concerns of Mississippi’s cyclists and pedestrians. We work with all levels of decision makers encouraging the creation, expansion and improvement of bicycling and pedestrian facilities and programs throughout Mississippi. It is our goal to increase the quality of life for the people of Mississippi through promoting the importance of health, safety, recreation and transportation alternatives.
Why we do it:
BWM believes the public right of way should never discriminate against those who walk or bike either by choice or by need. We believe in the rights of all users of the road to experience both personal freedom and safety when choosing their mode of transportation. We believe in a greater quality of life for all citizens. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe and supported as they walk, run, hike and bicycle across the state of Mississippi. We believe that everyone’s voice deserves to be heard.

- To connect and assist individuals by establishing a statewide network where your voice can be heard.
- To promote a healthier, safer Mississippi.
- To engage, empower and equip all citizens with education and tools to more effectively engage their own local communities.
- To build partnerships with Mississippi’s businesses, schools, MPO’s, developers, transportation advocates and many other public and private organizations.
